The largest universal exhibition ever took place in Shanghai, under the theme ‘Better City, Better Life’.

With an area of ​​5.28 km2 this expo received about 73 million visitors. Portugal was present with a 2 000 m2 Pavilion of bold architecture with an original facade completely covered in cork.

During the 184 days of the event, our Pavilion registered over 5 million visitors, a record in the history of Portuguese participation in universal exhibitions.

For this collaboration, FPGB developed a comprehensive project that included the exhibition structures design and the visual identity component for the content, communication pieces, merchandise, packaging and signage.

FPGB was distinguished with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for this project and the Portugal Pavilion also won a Gold Medal in the Design category, awarded by the Bureau International des Expositions.
The BIE is the Intergovernmental Organisation in charge of overseeing and regulating World Expos.
